Young people are integral to remedying the problems of society, however before they can begin to tackles these challenges, they need to feel and become empowered. Education provides power and so, for the past 4 years, Cedza has visited dozens of schools to inspire high, middle and elementary school children to value their education and maintain the right attitude towards school. Maintaining a positive attitude toward school work not only boosts confidence and inspires ambition, but it is also an effective strategy to closing achievement gaps between students and improving overall student performance. Acknowledging the importance of student attitudes for academic success, Cedza engages students on this topic. By drawing on his own experiences, he shares with them his 3 Pillars of Success: Courage, Discipline, and Perseverance, values which have guided him through his life and career. These principles of help students realize that with the right attitude no challenge can limit them and no dream is out of their reach. Furthermore, Cedza inspires them to action and leadership, reminding them that value is not measured in what you have, but in what you do with what you are given.
Recently, Cedza also launched a speaking tour with the Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts, Kerry Healey, called "It's about Choice not Chance". Targeting at-risk youth, Cedza and Lt. Governor Healey share their personal stories of struggle to help them realize that they can rise above any background or circumstance to achieve success, if they make the right decisions when young. He reinforces the idea that "it is not what you have or what family you are born into, but what you do with what you are given."
